IN THIS PROMPT

If you've ever felt caught between worlds - cultures, languages, countries, identities - this is for you.

What you need:

Paper, scissors, and printed media like magazines or newspapers.
If you work digitally, you can use photos from your phone instead.
You can also create your own symbols, words, or drawings.

Imagine your inner world had a passport.

  • What countries, symbols, colours, stamps, creatures, foods, memories, languages, or warnings would be inside?

Without overthinking too much, begin collecting words, phrases, symbols, images, or drawings that come to you.
Cut them out and play with arranging them into 3 clusters in a way that feels right. Let your hands decide and do work.

Pause for a moment and notice:
Which cluster pulls your attention, curiosity, comfort or emotion the most?

    Choose one cluster and explore:

    • What parts were inherited?

    • What parts did you choose?

    • What parts are still searching for a home?

    • What parts were left outside?

    • What parts change depending on where you are?

You can respond through writing, drawing, movement, voice, or simply sitting with what appeared.

  • Before finishing, notice what feels most alive right now - and what you may want to carry forward from this process.
